Brian Conlon, the former CEO of the Central Remedial Clinic to appear before the PAC

12 Dec 2013, 18:09

Brian Conlon, the recently retired CEO of the Central Remedial Clinic will give evidence to the Committee of Public Accounts in early January. Mr Conlon made contact with the Committee this afternoon to confirm that he will give evidence to the Committee.

Committee Chair John Mc Guinness in welcoming Mr Conlon's decision said that his evidence in the way remuneration packages were offered to certain staff in the Voluntary Sector was important.

Committee Chairman John McGuinness said: “It is another step in ensuring that this issue of top ups to the pay and other packages are consigned to history. We will be following up with other Section 38 agencies who are not in compliance with the terms of the service level agreement that is in place with the HSE.

We want those voluntary bodies to get on with providing the vital services they are contracted to do. However, they need to become compliant in terms of remuneration as, at present , this is having a negative impact on their ability to raise private funding through charitable donations.”
