The Legal Services Regulation Bill will be the focus of the Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality when it meets with the Minister for Justice and Equality Alan Shatter tomorrow, Wednesday, 15th January 2014.

It also provides for new structures in which legal practitioners may provide services together or with others, as well providing for the establishment of a roll of practising barristers, the reform of the law relating to the charging of costs by legal practitioners and the system of the assessment of costs relating to the provision of legal services, and the manner of appointment of persons to be Senior Counsel. Tomorrow, the Committee will resume consideration and members will have the opportunity to propose and discuss any amendments to the legislation as time permits.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 2 at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, 15th January 2014.
