The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions will tomorrow afternoon consider another batch of public petitions received.

The petitions relate to:
- The swapping of foreign driving licences for Irish driving licences ( Patricia O'Leary)
- Call for a public inquiry into the granting of Foreshore Licences (Melissa Halpin)
- Call for the Irish Government to introduce Equality Budgeting (Dr Clara Fischer)
- Recruitment Policy within RTÉ (Kevin Sharkey)
- Extending the FOI Acts to include the Data Protection Commissioner and the Financial Services Ombudsman (Niall Kelly)
Chairman of the Committee Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD says: “Our Committee looks forward to carefully considering a range of petitions received from members of the public on a range of issues, including the swapping for foreign driving licences for their Irish equivalent, a call for budgets to be equality proofed, concerns around the awarding of foreshore licences, recruitment policy within RTÉ and extending the reach of Freedom of Information legislation. Committee Members continue to encourage any individual citizen or group with concerns around the delivery of public services to make a petition, which will be carefully considered by the Committee. There is a standard form which we request all petitioners to complete, which is available at petitions.oireachtas.ie and can be completed and submitted online, emailed or sent by post.”
The meeting takes place tomorrow Wednesday 22 January in Committee Room 3, LH 2000 at 4 pm. The meeting will commence in private session, before reverting to public session at 4:45 pm. Public proceedings can be viewed online via this link.
