Health Committee to consider Health Service Executive (Financial Matters) Bill 2013

2 May 2014, 11:58

The Sub-Committee on Health will conduct the committee stage of the Health Service Executive (Financial Matters) Bill 2013 at its meeting on Tuesday, 6th May 2014.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The legislation provides for the funding of the HSE and its successor through the Vote of the Minister for Health from 1st January 2015. The HSE Vote will be abolished and a new financial governance structure for the HSE will be established. It follows on from the enactment of the Health Service Executive (Governance) Act in July, under which the HSE Board was abolished and replaced by the Directorate. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as published.”

The meeting will start at 5.15pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House on Tuesday, 6th May 2014.

Committee proceedings can be followed online here.

Proceedings will also be carried on UPC channel 207. Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
