12 May 2014, 15:46

The Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht Committee will start its Pre-legislative scrutiny on the General Scheme of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (Dissolution) Bill 2014 tomorrow, Tuesday, 13th May 2014.

The schedule for the meeting is:

Session A: 2.45pm
Representatives of Dublin Docklands Development Authority; and Dublin City Council; and

Session B: 4.30pm
Dublin Port Company; and Docklands Business Forum.

Michael McCarthy TD, Chairman of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, said: “This Bill is a stand-alone piece of legislation which provides the necessary legal arrangements for all aspects of the dissolution of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority. The Bill also proposes continued local community and business sector involvement in Docklands regeneration through the Docklands Consultative Forum, provides for the transfer of certain responsibilities, rights and liabilities to Dublin City Council primarily, as a consequence of the dissolution, and also provides certainty as regards the planning and development framework in the Docklands area. Tomorrow, we will get the perspectives of Dublin Docklands Development Authority, Dublin City Council, Dublin Port Company and the Docklands Business Forum on the proposed legislation.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House at 2.15pm tomorrow, Tuesday 13th May 2014.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
