Finance Committee to consider EU legislative proposal on money market funds

Officials from the Department of Finance will attend the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform tomorrow, Wednesday, 4th June 2014 to consider scrutiny of EU legislative proposal: COM (2013)615 – Money Market Funds.

Committee Chairman Ciaran Lynch said: “Money Market Funds are an important source of short-term financing for financial institutions, corporates and governments. This EU legislative proposal would introduce new measures over the next few years to regulate the way in which money market funds operate. Tomorrow, we will have an opportunity to consider the proposed EU legislation in detail with officials from the Department of Finance.”

This meeting will start in private at 3pm tomorrow, Wednesday, 4th June 2014 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. The public meeting with the Department of Finance officials will start at approximately 4pm.
