Health Committee to discuss HIQA report on nursing homes

The Health Information and Quality Authority’s Annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people – 2013 will be on the agenda of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children tomorrow, 5th June 2014.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The Health Information and Quality Authority has published its first annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people. The report summarises the findings of the 697 individual inspection reports published by HIQA during 2013, analyses the regulatory activity that HIQA undertook as a result of these findings and provides an overview on the nursing home sector in Ireland. Tomorrow we will have an opportunity to consider the report in greater detail.”

This meeting will be held in Committee Room 2, Leinster House 2000 at 9.30am on Thursday, 5th June 2014.
