9 Jun 2014, 10:32

The Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht Committee will resume its pre-legislative scrutiny on the General Scheme of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (Dissolution) Bill 2014 tomorrow, Tuesday, 10th June 2014.

The schedule for the meeting is:

Session A: 2.15 pm.
Representatives of St Andrews Resource Centre; Ringsend Community Services Forum; Inner City Renewal Group; Dublin City Community Forum; Dublin Docklands Community Liaison Committee; and

Session B: 4.30 pm.
Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.

Michael McCarthy TD, Chairman of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, said: “This Bill is a stand-alone piece of legislation which provides the necessary legal arrangements for all aspects of the dissolution of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority. The Bill also proposes continued local community and business sector involvement in Docklands regeneration through the Docklands Consultative Forum, provides for the transfer of certain responsibilities, rights and liabilities to Dublin City Council primarily, as a consequence of the dissolution, and also provides certainty as regards the planning and development framework in the Docklands area. Tomorrow, we will get the perspectives of representatives of St Andrews Resource Centre; Ringsend Community Services Forum; Inner City Renewal Group; Dublin City Community Forum; Dublin Docklands Community Liaison Committee; and the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government on the proposed legislation.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House at 2.15pm tomorrow, Tuesday 10th June 2014.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
