Oireachtas Banking Inquiry agrees proposal for CPPs

The Joint Committee of Inquiry into the Banking Crisis today agreed a proposal for submission to the Committees on Procedure and Privileges of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann.

Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD: “The Committee met today and agreed final amendments for a proposal for submission to the Committees on Procedure and Privileges of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann. This document outlines the relevant proposal, which includes a framework for the inquiry plan, the different phases of the inquiry and its draft terms of reference. It is expected that the proposal will be debated in the Houses by mid-October. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Committee members for their hard work and commitment in preparing this proposal which reflects the co-operative and constructive approach that the Committee has adopted.”
