Jobs Committee continues hearings on Industrial Relations Amendment Bill 2014

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will continue its pre-legislative scrutiny on the General Scheme of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill 2014 today, Tuesday, 18th November 2014.

The Schedule for the meeting is:

Session A: 1.45 pm

Representatives of the Construction Industry Federation; and IBEC; and

Session B: 2.45 p.m.

Representatives of the Association of Electrical Contractors (Ireland); National Electrical Contractors Ireland; Technical Electrical and Engineering Union (TEEU); and Construction Workers Alliance.

Committee Chair Marcella Corcoran Kennedy said: “Today we will resume our hearings on pre-legislative scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill which aims to provide a new legislative framework to address issues arising from the Supreme Court ruling striking down Registered Employment Agreements, which set pay rates and conditions of employment for certain groups and sectors. We’re looking forward to getting the perspectives of a number of business groups, industry bodies and unions on the proposed legislation.”

This meeting will start at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 18th November 2014 in Committee Room 2.
