Event: Launch of Committee Report on ‘Policy Options to Support Business Growth and Job Creation and Retention in Town and Village Centres.
Location: A/V Room, LH2000, Leinster House.
Date: Thursday, 26th March 2015.
Time: 11am.

Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy, TD said: “Over the course of a series of hearings held last year, the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation explored how best to encourage employment in regional areas, while supporting job retention. The Joint Committee is very pleased to launch its Report on ‘Policy Options to Support Business Growth and Job Creation and Retention in Town and Village Centres’. The report, authored by Vice-Chair and Rapporteur, John Lyons, TD, represents a significant contribution towards the Committee’s work in encouraging employment in Irish towns and villages. We hope that the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will consider this report and its 15 recommendations carefully and that he will utilise as many of these as possible in his work with both the Retail Consultation Programme and the Action Plan for Jobs.”

Copies of the report will be available in the A/V Room and electronic versions will be online shortly afterwards. Deputy Corcoran-Kennedy and other Committee Members will be in attendance and available for questions following the launch.
