Jobs Committee to continue discussions on female entrepreneurship

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 31st March at 1.30pm, when it will continue its discussions on women entrepreneurship, women in the tech industry, skill needs and the need for balanced regional development.

Appearing before the Committee will be:
•    Tara McCarthy, Director of the Consumer Foods Division, Bord Bia.
•    Eileen Bentley, Entrepreneurship Manager, Bord Bia.
•    Colette Twomey, Director of Clonakilty Food Company.
•    Orla Rimmington, Partner, Kernel Capital.
•    Jayne Brady, Partner, Kernel Capital.
•    Denise Sidhu, Partner & Finance Director, Kernel Capital.

Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy, TD, said: “The Committee is pleased to recommence its series of meetings on women entrepreneurship, women in the tech industry, skill needs and balanced regional development. Our invited speakers will offer us a unique insight into the challenges facing female entrepreneurs. They will also give us the benefit of their experiences working on regional development, which will help inform our discussion on what supports are needed in that area.”

Also up for discussion tomorrow are two EU legislative proposals relating to the signing, provisional application and conclusion of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the West African States: COM(2014)576 and COM(2014)578.


The meeting will start in Committee Room 2, Leinster House, tomorrow, Tuesday, 31st March 2015 at 1.30pm. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
