Bus Éireann & Dublin Bus to appear before Transport Committee

28 Apr 2015, 15:33

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communication will resume its pre-legislative Scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Road Traffic Bill 2015 tomorrow, Wednesday, 29th April at 11am in Committee Room 4.

28th April 2015

Representatives from Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann will appear before the Committee.

Committee Chair, John O’Mahony, TD, said: “The Road Traffic Bill 2015 is a very significant piece of draft legislation, one which aims to make Irish roads safer. Tomorrow’s meeting with Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann will allow us to hear from some stakeholder groups who will be impacted by these proposals. In particular, the proposal that employers introduce drug test regimes for drivers of buses, mini-buses and HGVs has been flagged as a concern to employers. As such, the Committee is keen to hear from our invited speakers on this matter and others relating to the General Scheme of the Road Traffic Bill 2015.”

The meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House, tomorrow, Wednesday, 29th April at 11am.
