An Garda Síochána to appear before Transport Committee on draft Road Traffic Bill

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communication will resume its pre-legislative Scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Road Traffic Bill 2015 tomorrow, when representatives from An Garda Síochána’s Traffic Bureau will appear before the Committee.

Representatives from the Irish Haulage Association will also be in attendance.

Committee Chair, John O’Mahony, TD, said: “Tomorrow’s meeting will represent the third session of Pre-Legislative Scrutiny our Committee has held on the General Scheme of the Road Traffic Bill 2015.

“An Garda Síochána’s Traffic Bureau and the Irish Road Haulage Association will brief us on their analysis of the draft legislation. The Committee looks forward to continuing to its scrutiny of this vital piece of draft legislation, as we work to make Ireland’s roads safer.”

The meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House, tomorrow, Wednesday, 6th May at 12 noon.
