The Joint Committee on Children and Youth Affairs will tomorrow meet with representatives from Early Childhood Ireland to discuss the National Collaborative Forum for the Early Years Care and Education Sector, known as the Early Years Forum.

The meeting will commence at 10.00am in Committee Room 1 tomorrow, Wednesday, 19 October 2016.

Committee Chairman, Jim Daly TD, said “The Committee look forward to hearing from Early Childhood Ireland on their vision for how best practice in Early Childhood Education (ECE) can be implemented. We look forward to discussing how, through this vision, every child in Ireland would thrive and learn in a conducive setting in their formative years.”

“The Committee also welcomes the opportunity to hear more about the challenges which this vision presents - including how we enhance the quality of ECE for children, how services and staff can be protected for sustainability and how this can be made affordable to parents.
