Finance Select Committee to consider Committee Stage of Finance Bill 2016

The Select Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 9th November 2016 in three sessions, to begin its consideration of the Finance Bill 2016 (Committee Stage).

8th November 2016

The first session of the meeting, commencing at 10am, will take place in the Dáil chamber.  The second session, at 2pm, will be held in Committee Room 2, as will the third session which will commence at 6pm.  Proceedings will adjourn at 9pm. Consideration will continue on Thursday, 10th November.

Michael Noonan TD, Minister for Finance, will attend at Select Committee for the proceedings.

Committee Chairman John McGuinness TD, said, “The Finance Bill is a key piece of legislation for government, as it includes the various Budget Day announcements.  It also contains a number of initial measures as a first response to ‘Brexit’ and, as a Committee we very much welcome the opportunity to influence this legislation. Committee Stage allows the Committee to comprehensively engage in the legislative process as we examine the finer detail of the Bill with Minister Noonan.”
