Rural and Community Development Committee to discuss National Planning Framework with Minister

Ireland 2040, the Government’s National Planning Framework will be on the agenda of the Oireachtas Committee on Rural and Community Development when it meets Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Damien English TD tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 December 2017.

Committee Chairman Joe Carey TD said: “Earlier this year, the Government launched Ireland 2040, a National Planning Framework to guide national, regional and local planning and investment decisions for the years ahead. Tomorrow, the Committee will meet with Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government Damien English to examine the plan in greater detail. Specifically the Committee will be interested in how the plan will inform rural development and help develop, sustain and grow rural communities, promote regional development and provide services, investment and jobs in local communities.”

The Committee will meet at 11am, tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 December 2017 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
