Agriculture Committee to discuss Indecon 'Review of the Irish Harness Racing sector'

Representatives from the Irish Harness Racing Association will appear before the Committee.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chair, Pat Deering TD said today, “In November, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, published the Indecon Review of the Irish Harness Racing Sector. The report made a number of significant recommendations around the operation of the Harness Racing industry. The Committee is keen to discuss the implications of the report and the Minister’s acceptance of it with the Irish Harness Racing Association.”

Prior to this, the Committee will conduct scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals:  

Schedule A: COM(2017)645 (Proposed Council Regulation – fish quotas), COM(2017)692 (Proposed Council Regulation - quantitative limitations for buying-in skimmed milk powder)

Schedule B: COM(2017)641; COM(2017)643; COM(2017)672; COM(2017)742

The meeting will start at 3.30pm in Committee Room 1, Leinster House.
