The Joint Committee on Justice and Equality will carry out detailed Scrutiny of Equality (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2017 [PMB]Bill 2017 tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 January 2018.
Chairman of the Committee Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin said: “The aim of this Bill is to amend the Employment Equality Act 1998 and the Equal Status Act 2000 by prohibiting discrimination on the basis of a person’s social and economic background. Tomorrow we will start our detailed scrutiny of the proposed legislation when we will meet with representatives from the Equality and Rights Alliance, as well as the employers’ body IBEC to get their perspectives on the Bill.”
The meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 January at 9am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.
