Ceann Comhairle expresses condolences on the death of Seamus Pattison

4 Feb 2018, 17:01

Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl TD, has expressed his condolences on the death of Seamus Pattison.

Speaking today, the Ceann Comhairle said, “I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of my distinguished predecessor Seamus Pattison, who served as Ceann Comhairle from 1997 to 2002. Seamus was a man of the utmost integrity and brought a quiet and unassuming gravitas to the chair of Dail Eireann.”

“His extraordinary achievement of representing his beloved Kilkenny since 1961 showed his affinity for the local people he represented  while never losing sight of the national and international responsibilities he carried out with such distinction, particularly during his tenure as Ceann Comhairle."
