Bill to modernise Ireland’s copyright laws reaches Business, Enterprise and Innovation Committee

12 Jun 2018, 16:09

A bill to modernise Ireland’s copyright laws will be considered Wednesday by the Select Committee on Business, Enterprise and Innovation.

Minister of State John Halligan is expected to address the Committee at the meeting, which begins at 4:45 p.m. in Committee Room 4.

The Copyright and Other Intellectual Property Law Provisions Bill 2018  adopts many of the recommendations made in 2013 by the Copyright Review Committee and proposes a raft of amendments to acts governing the laws of copyright, trademarks, industrial designs and patents dating back in some cases to the 1920s.

Wednesday’s meeting can be viewed live here.

It also can be viewed live on Android and Apple devices using the Houses of the Oireachtas app.
