Gas Networks Ireland’s ‘Vision 2050’ to be discussed at Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment

Gas Networks Ireland’s ‘Vision 2050’ plan will be discussed at the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 15 October in Leinster House, Committee Room 2 at 3pm.

Gas Networks Ireland’s Vision 2050 plan will be discussed at the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 15 October in Leinster House, Committee Room 2 at 3pm.

Representatives of Gas Networks Ireland and Ervia will both appear before the Committee of TDs and Senators.

Speaking before the meeting, Chairperson of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Deputy Hildegarde Naughton said: “Gas Networks Ireland, together with its parent company Ervia recently published Vision 2050 - A Net Zero Carbon Gas Network for Ireland.

“We are very interested to hear about the strategy and ways it proposes to reduce Ireland’s carbon emissions including the methods and technologies it is proposing to create a net zero carbon gas network.”
