The Joint Committee on Children and Youth Affairs has extended the deadline for written submissions from interested groups or individuals on the General Scheme of a Certain Institutional Burials (Authorised Interventions) Bill.
The proposed legislation provides for the phased forensic analysis and possible re-interment of remains at former institutional sites like the former mother and baby home in Tuam, Co. Galway.
The closing date for receipt of submissions is now Friday, 24 January 2020.
The Committee will consider any suitable written submissions received and will invite a number of interested parties to public hearings in the coming weeks.
