Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment to meet with Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Minister of State Robert Troy

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet with An Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar TD, tomorrow, Friday, 29 January, at 10am in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House.

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, who will be accompanied by Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, Robert Troy TD, will brief the Committee on the General Scheme of the Companies (Corporate Enforcement Authority) Bill 2018 as part of its Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the Bill.

Committee Chairman Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “Last week, the Committee met with Ian Drennan, the Director of Corporate Enforcement, and his colleagues to begin the pre-legislative scrutiny of this Bill, which proposes to establish an independent Corporate Enforcement Authority. Members now look forward to discussing the Heads of the Bill with the Tánaiste and Minister Troy. The Committee is interested in seeing the prompt passage through the Oireachtas of this important legislation.”

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
