Joint Committee on Agriculture and the Marine to discuss Brexit, Port Operations and Import Controls

The Joint Committee on Agriculture and the Marine will meet this afternoon when the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and officials from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine appear.

The meeting at 3.30pm in Committee Room 2, watch here,  will begin with the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD, along with the following officials from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

  • Paul Savage, Assistant Secretary with responsibility for Brexit.
  • Hazel Sheridan, Senior Superintending Veterinary Inspector , Head of Port Operations.
  • Rob Doyle, Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer, Director of Import Controls Division.

Ahead of the meeting, Chair Jackie Cahill, TD, said: “Brexit, Port Operations and Import Controls  are among the challenges whichAgriculture has faced in recent months, and with that in mind the input of the Minister and officials from the department with specific responsibility for these vital areas is most welcome. It is vital that our Agriculture and Marine sectors continue to be able to do business, and export to our key markets.”
