Committee on Budgetary Oversight to discuss cost of climate change with TASC and OECD

The Committee on Budgetary Oversight will meet representatives of the OECD and think-tank for action on social change TASC to discuss the cost of climate change at a meeting in Leinster House, Committee Room 1 tomorrow, Wednesday 17 June at 9.30am.

TASC Climate Justice Centre, Executive Manager, Seán McCabe, OECD senior policy analyst Ivana Capozza and International Transport Forum at the OECD policy analyst Tatiana Samsonova will appear virtually before the Committee.

Speaking before the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Neasa Hourigan TD said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to get the views of both TASC and the OECD on the budgetary investment needed for climate action,  as Ireland transitions towards a low-carbon economy, the cost of inaction, where investment should be directed and the impact of climate change on employment, communities and the way we live.”
