Speaking in advance of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach, Paul Kehoe said: “The Committee will discuss Irish Language and Irish Medium education which is a key Module in our examination.

The Cathaoirleach added: “The meeting is an important one as it seeks the views and insights of the representative organisations from the Irish language sector,  those representing Irish language schools and parents of students who live in Gaeltacht areas. This sector is integral to any decisions on reforming the Leaving Certificate as the number of students availing of education through Irish has increased.”

“The Committee looks forward to discussing these topics and having the wider conversation with the stakeholders.”
