Good Friday Committee to meet with representatives from the Committee on the Administration of Justice

The Committee on the Administration of Justice was established in 1981 and is an independent non-governmental organisation affiliated to the International Federation for Human Rights.

The organisation seeks to ensure the highest standards in the administration of justice in Northern Ireland by ensuring that the government complies with its responsibilities in international human rights law. 

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House between 13:30-16:30.  

The Committee is set to hear from the following representatives:  

• Daniel Holder - Deputy Director - Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ)

• Úna Boyd - Immigration Project Solicitor & Coordinator - Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ)   

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Fergus O’Dowd said: “The Committee looks forward to this engagement with the Committee on the Administration - a sister organisation of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties.” 

“The organisation works to monitor the implementation of human rights related commitments as set out by the Good Friday Agreement and the New Decade New Approach deal.”

“Commitments on an the Irish Language Act, the incorporation of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) into Northern Ireland law and the UK’s Nationality and Borders bill are among the topics Members will discuss with representatives.”
