Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action to discuss impact of New Retrofitting Plan, built environment embodied emissions, and recycling and reuse of materials

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 26 April to discuss the impact of the New Retrofitting Plan, the built environment embodied emissions and construction and demolition and the recycling and reuse of materials.

The meeting at 11am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will hear from representatives from Irish Green Building Council, University College Dublin (UCD) and the European Commission.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Leddin said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to discuss emissions from the built environment sector. We also look forward to hearing the views of our stakeholders on emissions in the construction sector, embodied emissions and the reuse and recycling of materials in retrofit works and new builds.”

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
