The Irish Parliamentary Women's Caucus is a cross-party forum for Irish women parliamentarians to discuss and campaign on issues predominantly affecting women. At their meeting held on 16 November, the caucus held a moment’s silence in memory of Vicky Phelan.
The members of the Irish Parliamentary Women’s Caucus would like to commend the strength, courage and bravery of Vicky Phelan and send their sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Chair of the caucus, Kildare Senator Fiona O’Loughlin paid tribute to Vicky’s courage and commitment to ensuring better outcomes for women’s health. Senator O’Loughlin said Vicky’s legacy is immense and needs to be respected by those of us in public life by continuing her campaign for action and accountability.
