Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach to meet with representatives of the Central Bank of Ireland

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 25 January, at 1.30pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House with representatives of the Central Bank of Ireland.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to meet with officials from the Central Bank to discuss general banking issues. Among the matters for discussions are retail banking, including an update on the withdrawal of Ulster Bank and KBC from the Irish Market, interest rates, mortgages, and economic fraud, including what is known as ‘authorised push payment fraud’. The Committee looks forward to a wide-ranging and productive engagement on these and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
