The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 February, at 1.30pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House with representatives of Ulster Bank and KBC.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “This meeting continues the Committee’s ongoing engagement with representatives from Ulster Bank and KBC regarding both banks withdrawals from the Irish market.

“Members look forward to hearing the latest updates from both banks concerning the closure of customer accounts and transfer of business to other banks, as well as regarding the closure of branches and the impacts on staff.

“The Committee made a number of recommendations regarding the withdrawal of Ulster Bank and KBC in its Report on Banking 2022 published last month and we would like to hear from both banks on this and related matters.”
