Enterprise Committee to discuss strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for the start-up and scaling environment in Ireland

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet on Wednesday March 22nd to discuss strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the start-up and scaling environment in Ireland.

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House between 09:30-12-30.

The following representatives are due to appear:
Nick Ashmore, Director - Ireland Strategic Investment Fund
Martina Fitzgerald, CEO - Scale Ireland
Brian Caulfield, Chair - Scale Ireland

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “Scale Ireland was set up in late 2019 to support promote and represent the indigenous tech sector tech and it has an ambitious agenda and mission – to create the best conditions for start-ups to thrive and to make Ireland a leading location for innovation and entrepreneurship.”

“We look forward to discussing the threats and opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs who are trying to start, grow and scale their businesses globally from here in Ireland and to benefit Irish society and the economy through the creation of high quality jobs around the country and also through increased exports.”
