Leinster House will open its doors to the public for Culture Night 2023 as part of the nationwide event, which takes place across the country this Friday, 22 September

20 Sep 2023, 13:00

As part of the Houses of the Oireachtas commitment to public engagement, visitors will be given exceptional access to Leinster House, Ireland’s Parliament building, from 5.00pm to 9.30pm on Friday, 22 September, for Culture Night 2023.

Irish Sign Language (ISL) and Irish language tours alongside English language guided tours will be provided on the night, which will give visitors the chance to see the historic Dáil and Seanad chambers. Visitors will also be able to view the historic art on display throughout the building as they walk through the corridors of Leinster House.

Musical entertainment will be provided on the night by members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, Rathfarnham Ukulele Group, St Damian’s National School Choir, and Gloria, Dublin’s LGBT+ Choir.

Leinster House is one of Ireland’s most culturally and socially significant buildings and opening the doors of the Parliament plays a vital part in promoting civic engagement between the public and their parliamentary system.

As such, the Houses of the Oireachtas Service is delighted take part in Culture Night for the eighteenth year and has made approximately 500 tickets available to the public for the event.

While the tours are free, please note that this is a ticketed event and tickets are now booked out.

Culture Night is an annual, nationwide event in which arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public.
