A Woman's Place
This documentary follows the artist, Noel Murphy, on his six-month project to create a painting of all 53 sitting women members of the Houses of the Oireachtas. Journalist Eamonn Mallie reveals the artistic process and interviews the Members as they visit the artist’s studio to sit for their portraits.

Votes for Women: Suffrage and Citizenship
This is a short film about the exhibition of artefacts, images and ephemera celebrating the Irish suffrage movement. It includes interivews with Lynn Scarff, director of the National Museum of Ireland, and Micheline Sheehy Skeffington, whose grandmother, Hanna Sheehy Skeffington, was a leader of the Irish suffragette movement.

Díospóireacht na nÓg took place in the Seanad Chamber on 17 April. Sixteen transition year students debated the motion:
"Has the struggle for freedom, justice and equality been realised in Ireland's institutions, culture and society?"

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn
On 6 March, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the first woman to serve as a Minister since the foundation of the State, gave a lecture in Leinster House. She spoke about the importance of our national language to her and in her work and about her life and career in Irish and European politics.

Dáil Éireann marked 6 February 2018 by hearing statements on the centenary of women's suffrage. Speakers include Deputy Josepha Madigan, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, and Deputies Niamh Smyth, Louise O'Reilly, Joan Burton, Ruth Coppinger, Joan Collins, Catherine Murphy and Catherine Martin.
