Vol. 3 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - ARREST AT CLIFDEN.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Martin Joseph Clancy, of Keile, Bally cource, Clifden, was arrested on 26th March, while cycling from his home to visit his medical adviser, Dr. Irwin, of Ross Moyard, apparently on the assumption that he was carrying dispatches for Irregulars; whether any charge has been preferred against him; whether he is aware that he is prepared to sign the usual undertaking; and in view of the fact that his father is an old man, unable to work his farm without the help of his son, will he consider the advisability of releasing young Clancy as soon as possible.

The question of releasing Clancy is being favourably considered.
