Vol. 5 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DEPENDENT'S ALLOWANCE (HARRISTOWN, CO. KILDARE).

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Private Patrick Allinson, Brannockstown, Harristown, County Kildare, was shot dead at Graney Cross, Baltinglass, on the 24th October, 1922, whilst serving in the National Army; further, that although he was contributing to his father's support before he joined the Army, the father never received any dependents allowance during his service, and whether the question of compensation to the father for the loss of his son will be favourably considered.

I am aware that Private Allinson was killed as stated. It appears that no claim for dependents allowance was made by or on behalf of his father. His case will be considered under the terms of the Army Pensions Act, 1923.
