Vol. 7 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - BUILDING GRANTS.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the pro per authority from whom persons desirous of building a house or houses under the Housing (Building Facilities) Act, 1924, can obtain information; whether plans and specifications are available, and, if so, from what source, and if he will state at what period and in what amounts are the grants to be paid to persons who have started building.

Information required may be obtained from the Housing Section, Ministry of Local Government. Plans and specifications are obtainable from Messrs. Eason and Son, Ltd., Lower O'Connell Street, Dublin. The first instalment of the grant may be paid when the house has been roofed and the second instalment when the house has been completed. The amount will depend on the proportion of the works carried out. Persons who commenced building operations prior to the passing of the Act and after the 20th October last, should make application before the 21st July next to authorise the appointed officer for their area to issue certificates of approval.
