Vol. 7 No. 18

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - SUPERANNUATION OF MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will consider the inclusion in the Local Government Bill of a provision for superannuating municipal employees who through age and infirmity have been incapacitated from further work.

Mr. BURKE

I am not prepared to include a clause of this nature. These employees, by reason of the regularity of their employment, are normally in a better position than employees generally, to make provision for loss of earnings by reason of old age and infirmity.
