CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRE-TRUCE CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURIES.
Two reports of the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee dealing with applications in respect of pre-Truce personal injuries have been received by me. All the recommendations of the first report and the majority of the recommendations of the second report have been paid, and it is hoped to dispose of the remaining cases in the second report before the end of the week. A further report is expected before the end of the month, and the necessary payments will be made without delay. I am satisfied that the claims are being heard and disposed of with all possible expedition.
The first report of the Committee dealt mainly with post-Truce claims. The second report contains eighty cases of pre-Truce injury in which recommendations for payments of compensation are made. The third report of the Committee will deal exclusively with pre-Truce claims, and will include about 500 such cases.
