Vol. 7 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - KEOGH BARRACKS EMPLOYE'S PAY.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the reason for refusing payment to Mr. J.J. Hampson, who was kept employed without being attested in Keogh Barracks, Dublin, from the 16th April, 1923, until the 24th September, 1923.

Mr. Hampson joined the Army shortly before recruiting ceased for the time being, at the end of April, 1923, and had not attested when recruiting was actually discontinued. When his claim was made it took some time to ascertain all the circumstances of the case, but payment was not refused. The claim has now been settled by the issue of a cheque.
