Vol. 7 No. 24

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - DELGANY CLAIM FOR RETURN OF GUN.

asked the Minister for Defence whether a request has been received from Mr. Ireton Jones, of Delgany, Co. Wicklow, for the return of a gun and rifle handed over to the R.I.C. in October, 1918; whether these weapons can be traced, and, if so, when they will be handed over to Mr. Jones.

Mr. Jones was notified in September last and again on the 31st ultimo that a rifle and a gun recorded as his property had been traced. He was at the same time requested to forward to the Chief Ordnance Officer, Island Bridge Barracks, Dublin, the receipt of their surrender to the R.I.C. and also a police licence authorising their possession now. No reply has been received from him. When Mr. Jones furnishes the required documents the arms will be returned to him.
