Vol. 8 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ARMY ACCOUNTS (WEXFORD).

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received repeated applications from Mr. O'Carroll, boot merchant, South Main Street, Wexford, for payment of the sum of £105, due for boots supplied to the Army in the year 1922, and if, in view of the fact that this account is so long outstanding, he will make an order for immediate payment.

Applications for payment of £105 in respect of boots supplied to the forces in Wexford in June, 1922, have been received from Mr. O'Carroll. The forces in question were Irregulars. Payment of the account cannot, therefore, be made from Army Funds. Mr. O'Carroll was informed accordingly on the 7th April last.

In view of the fact that the officer who sent the order for these boots is still in the National Army, will the President not consider that this is a matter for the National Army?

Mr. O'Carroll's remedy in that matter is to make a claim under the Damage to Property Act.

Is he still open to do that?

The time may have elapsed, but it is open to him to make an application to the Judge to allow him to make the claim now.
