Vol. 8 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION AWARDS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will expedite payment in the case of awards made to James Warren, of Ballineen Co. Cork, dated 4th October, 1921, to the amount of £1,000 and costs, and a further award to the amount of £880 and costs, dated 11th April, 1921 granted to James Shorten, Ballineen and assigned by him to James Warren

No such award as that first mentioned by the Deputy has yet been received from the Compensation Commission. The second of the awards referred to has been duly received and gazetted for payment, but is more than covered by an advance of £1,150 made to James Warren by the Office of Public Works on the joint security of the County Court decrees in his own favour and in favour of James Shorten.

No question of payment can arise until the Commission have notified their award in the case of James Warren.
