asked the Minister for Finance if he has received from Mr. John O'Brien, Upper Turnpike, Ennis, an application for compensation in respect of his son, John O'Brien, Tiermaclane, Ennis, who was shot dead on October 1st, 1922, about 11 o'clock at night, when coming from his employer's house, and if any decision has yet been reached in the case.

The application referred to by the Deputy has been received and carefully considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee. After full investigation of all the facts of the case, the Committee have recommended that no compensation should be paid.
