Vol. 8 No. 22

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DELAY IN PARCEL DELIVERY.

LIAM MAC SIOGHUIRD

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether a parcel containing two hundred forms of claim for Registration purposes, posted at Castlebar at 4.30 p.m. on the 21st March last, was not delivered at its destination in Ballina until 2.30 p.m. on the 25th March, during an ordinary delivery of parcel post, two hours before the last post by which these forms could have been returned to the Sheriff in time to comply with the Registration Regulations; whether the letter of advice of dispatch was received in the ordinary course, and whether, although complaint in form, with all necessary evidence, was lodged with the Postmaster, Ballina, on the 27th March, and the matter reported on two occasions to the Secretary, Post Office, Dublin, no investigation has yet been held into the matter.

Enquiry is being made into the case, and I will communicate with the Deputy later.
