WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ARMY DEPENDENTS' CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he will have inquiries made into the application of the relatives of the late Quartermaster Horne, Cobh, who died at Galbally, Co. Limerick, in October, 1922, from gunshot wounds received while on active service with the National Army, for amount sufficient to pay funeral expenses incurred at the time by the officer commanding the Cork Command and still unpaid; and whether he will have instructions issued to have this amount disbursed at an early date.

An ex gratia payment of £10 was made on the 25th instant to Mr. Richard Horne in respect of the expenses incurred in connection with the burial of his brother, the late Quartermaster Sergeant Horne.
