Vol. 9 No. 10

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LOUGHREA PERSONAL INJURIES CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if he received from Mr. Peter Ruane, of Scalp, Castledaly, Kilchreest, Loughrea, a claim for personal injuries caused by British Forces on October 31st, 1920; whether any decision has been come to regarding such claim, and, if so, if he will state the grounds on which such decision was based.

The application referred to by the Deputy was received and fully considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who recommended that no compensation should be paid. This decision was communicated to the applicant on the 8th ultimo. The application was disallowed by the Committee on the ground that the injuries received were not in any way of a permanent nature, and that no serious hardship was suffered by the applicant.
