Vol. 10 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLARE GUN OWNER'S APPLICATION.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received from Mr. H.J. Hunt, Corofin, County Clare, an application in respect of a gun, his property, seized by British military in 1916, and if he will expedite a decision.

Mr. Hunt was informed on the 17th September last that his gun could not be traced. As it had not been surrendered voluntarily, British authorities had confiscated it and will not admit liability for compensation. I may add that a claim against our public funds could not be entertained.
