Vol. 11 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HORSES SEIZED.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why a Collector of Taxes seized three horses the property of Mr. P.J. Carey, Oldtown House, Raheny, on the 28th April, 1925, for income tax alleged to be due by Mrs. Sarah Carey on foot of a farm at Baskin Lane, Kinsaley; if he is aware that Mrs. Sarah Carey has no connection whatever with the property on which the seizure took place, and whether he will see that Mr. Carey's horses are returned forthwith.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the matter that occasioned the distraint is at the moment the subject of discussion and correspondence with the parties concerned. A satisfactory arrangement in regard to the income tax outstanding is expected to be entered into without delay. In the meantime the horses have been returned.
